Abstract.
One of the most pressing concerns in the geographic information science community is the distribution of spatial datasets over the Internet. Two projects of the Department of Geosciences at Oregon State University are in the process of distributing data. The Oregon Coast Geospatial Clearinghouse was implemented with the goal of housing and distributing a diverse group of data for the Oregon coastal region, extending from the crest of the Coast Range to the Juan de Fuca Ridge. The Transboundary Freshwater Dispute Database, which houses data and information dealing with international freshwater issues and concerns, is being distributed over the Internet as well. The implementation of these two distributed datasets is discussed in this research paper.
